Low Tide Steakhouse in Surf City is searching for a full time and part time skilled grill and line cooks to join our staff. Low Tide is a family owned and operated business in Surf City serving as the only steakhouse in the area. We pride ourselves in delivering quality food to our patrons as well as providing a positive team-oriented atmosphere.

As our grill cook or line cook, your tasks will be related primarily to cooking food on our kitchen’s grill. This will include grilling meat, sautéing vegetables, and other types of food as needed. To be successful in this role, you will need to be capable of working in a team and have exceptional food preparation abilities. We also ask our grill and line cooks to assist the kitchen staff with the ingredient preparation process. This can involve slicing and cutting meat, vegetables, and other ingredients. You will also be asked to inform waitstaff when orders are ready and assist us in maintaining our inventory.

Grill and Line Cook Responsibilities:

·         Grill premium steaks, chicken, pork and seafood with a high degree of skill

·         Assist in maintaining inventory by tracking, labeling, and replacing key ingredients

·         Preparing meats including cleaning and cutting prime cuts of meat, along with other food prep as needed

·         Communicate with the team and wait staff to ensure the timely delivery of all meals

·         Follow all relevant food health and safety guidelines

·         Maintain a workstation that is both clean and sanitary

·         Communicate with the restaurant manager about any kitchen supplies and upgrades that are needed

·         As a team member grill and line cooks may have the opportunity to work the whole cook line as well as the expeditor role.

·         Arrives to work on time and as scheduled

·         Closes the kitchen properly and follows closing checklist and assists others with closing the kitchen

Grill Cook Requirements:

·         High school diploma or GED

·         Previous restaurant experience, preferably as a cook or educational background in culinary

·         Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen

·         Strong communication skills

·         Availability to work evening and weekend shifts

·         Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

·         Knowledge of and willingness to embrace important food health and safety guidelines

·         Willingness to continue learning and improving your craft

·         Be able to lift 30+ lbs. and stand for 8+ hours
