Your Role
This is a hybrid position based out of one of our Alberta Ronald McDonald Houses. The successful candidate must live in either Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer or Medicine Hat. Some evening and weekend work will be needed. Term ending September 21, 2026.
Why This Role Matters
The Gift-in-Kind Officer manages the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of gift-in-kind donations to support organizational needs for the entire provincial organization. This role is crucial for securing donations, reducing operating costs, and stewardship of gift-in-kind donors. Ronald McDonald House Alberta currently receives over $1M annually in gift-in-kind donations. This position will work closely with the Strategic Partnership Manager to source and secure gifts and/or discounts of products and services for Ronald McDonald House Alberta.
Your Key Responsibilities
· Create and manage end-to-end process for collecting and prioritizing gift-in-kind requests across the organization
· Seek opportunities for provincial gift-in-kind donors to support needs of multiple Houses
· Donor acquisition and solicitation of gift-in-kind donations
· Track all gift-in-kind donor activities in Raisers Edge
· Manage distribution of products between Houses
· Steward gift in kind donors, including thank you calls and impact reporting
· Lead and manage the holiday giving program, with support from Strategic Partnership Manager
· Drive and oversee gift in kind campaigns and target solicitations for high need items, including toys, quilts, and wish list essentials
· Support the Strategic Partnership Manager on projects as needed
· Participating in Development team activities, as needed
· All other tasks as required
Required Qualifications
· 2+ years of project management, non-profit or customer service experience
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including database management, preferably Raiser’s Edge
· Strong communication skills and the ability to manage confidential information
· Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, internally and externally
· Excellent relationship building skills, comfortable with prospecting and outreach to donors
· Ability to work in a result driven, fast paced, dynamic environment
· Strong problem solving, communication, and conflict resolution skills
· Highly organized, detail oriented, accountable, and proactive
· Ability to travel between locations in the province of Alberta
· Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
· Must provide a clear criminal record check
· Sometimes lift and move donations
