We are currently looking for Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistants (GNA) to join our community. The GNA should possess current and valid licensure through the State Board. Experience in a similar position or environment is preferred, but most important is a heartfelt and sincere passion for improving the lives of our residents.

A Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (CNA/GNA) is an important member of our care team dedicated to the well-being of each resident. Working under the direction of a licensed nurse (RN or LPN) the CNA/GNA builds a respectful and warm relationship with each resident being cared for while providing hands-on support and nursing care in a variety of settings within communities. These settings can include, Assisted Living, Comprehensive Care, and Home and Community-Based Services. The work focus of a CGNA will vary depending on which of these settings has been chosen for a work assignment and the individual needs of the resident. CGNAs provide various levels and types of care to our residents to include assistance with or completion of activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, dining, and help with personal appearance, bathroom assistance, mobility, and restorative care. Working closely with each resident, the CGNA will often obtain information such as vital signs, weight, and height and will be required to not only accurately document this (and other) information; but to also effectively communicate this information to the nurse and other members of the care team. Nursing assistants are a helpful liaison between the nurse and the resident. The nursing assistant is the person whose relationship with each patient.

Education: High School Graduate, Student or Equivalent

Licenses, Certifications, Registrations: Successful completion of Geriatric Nursing Assistant Competency Program, with current registration in the State. American Heart Assoc. CPR - First Aid and BLS.

Experience: (Number of years of related work experience) One year of experience is preferred.
