Position Summary

The Traveling General Manager will be responsible for supporting various locations across Iowa and Illinois by stepping in as needed to manage operations, train and develop teams, and ensure each restaurant upholds Pizza Ranch’s legendary standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing daily operations, training and developing team members, assisting locations during leadership transitions or training periods, and addressing operational challenges. Working closely with the District Manager, the Traveling General Manager will help assess and support restaurant needs, ensuring smooth performance and team success. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys traveling, and excels at problem-solving and team development. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs.

This role requires a commitment of 50 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities (but are not limited to)

Operational Leadership:

·         Travel to designated Pizza Ranch locations to provide temporary leadership and support.

·         Ensure each location operates efficiently, upholding Pizza Ranch’s food quality, service, and cleanliness standards.

·         Lead and support restaurant teams in meeting sales, profitability, and guest satisfaction goals.

·         Adapt quickly to different team environments, identifying and addressing operational challenges.

Training & Development:

·         Train and develop new and existing General Managers, Assistant Managers, and team members.

·         Provide on-site coaching to improve operational execution, guest service, and leadership effectiveness.

·         Assist with onboarding and training new leaders within the franchise.

Guest Experience & Community Engagement:

·         Ensure a legendary guest experience at each location through proper training and implementation of Pizza Ranch’s service standards.

·         Work with local teams to build strong community connections, support fundraising efforts, and foster a positive reputation in each market.

Business & Financial Management:

·         Support stores in achieving financial goals by managing food and labor costs effectively.

·         Analyze store performance and provide recommendations for operational improvements.

·         Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and food safety standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

·         Passion for leading and developing people.

·         3-5 years of restaurant management experience, preferably in multi-unit or traveling roles.

·         Ability to travel regularly across Iowa and Illinois 

·         Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly.

·         Effective communicator with strong oral and written communication skills.

·         Proficient in basic computer skills and restaurant management software.

·         High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

·         Business acumen with a strong focus on financial and operational performance.
