General Labourer/Builder- Structural Truss Systems
Structural Truss Systems specializes in the design, manufacturing, and transportation of custom roof trusses, floor systems, and wall panels for every size of residential, commercial, and agricultural projects. We operate out of over 38,000 square feet of manufacturing facility in Fort MacLeod, AB, just 25 minutes west of Lethbridge, AB.
This role is suitable for builders/general laborer's with experience in manufacturing or construction! Your role as the Builder/General Laborer will be to assemble building material components for our wall panel production as well production within the shop. Processes include positioning of materials, clamping, splicing, fitting parts and use of both hand and power tools in a Manufacturing shop environment as well as construction.
We are currently looking to hire the following position in our Structural Truss Systems facility.
Role: Builder/General Laborer
Job Type: Permanent Full-Time with Overtime Pay
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
Shift: Day Shift and Evening Shift
Shift Schedule:
- Day Shift - 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Night Shift - 3:45 PM to 2:15 AM
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with other builders to set up the workstation for each order as directed by the Lead Hand
- Assemble trusses in accordance with company procedures, standard work operating procedures and as instructed by the Lead Hand
- Regularly inspect and check the quality of work being performed as well as the quality of materials and conditions of the equipment
- Report any problems or equipment maintenance to the Lead Hand
- Maintain a clean workstation through the duration of a shift
- Responsible for using all equipment and operating machinery in a safe, correct, and careful manner, as instructed
- Perform other production manufacturing tasks as required
- The Builder/GL will report directly to the Lead Hand of the working area
- The Builder/GL will work in conjunction with other builders
Key Requirements:
- This role is situated indoors of a manufacturing facility.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (8–10-hour shifts).
- Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50-75 lbs. repetitively.
- Ability to use hands to grasp, handle and feel.
- Frequent stooping, bending, and stretching.
- CSA work boots are REQUIRED while on the manufacturing floor as well as area designated PPE (earplugs, safety glasses, hi-vis vest etc.)
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Must have the ability to be alert while operating machinery.
- Must be able to read and write.
Please note: You must have CSA approved work boots, as they are REQUIRED when on the manufacturing floor.
