General Construction Manufacturing Mechanic
Job Description for a Mechanic
- Maintains, services and/or repairs vehicles including construction tractors, ready mix trucks, company owned light and medium duty trucks, and other construction equipment including but not limited to loaders, back hoes, and rubber tire loaders and excavators. Also, will include air compressors, small hand tools, air and hydraulic powered tools.
- Maintains a clean and environmentally responsible work area.
- Adheres to Company policies and procedures, State, Local, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Participates in continuous training and development within one's job classification.
- Shall submit neat, accurate paperwork and required documentation and properly use "Work Orders" and "Purchase Orders".
Job Specifications/Minimum Requirements
- Possess strong mechanical skills.
- Possess the skills and training necessary to maintain, service and/or repair of basic manufacturing equipment.
- Displays a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and management.
- Working outdoors with exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold and other outdoor environmental conditions, constant standing and walking, climbing, working from heights and lifting up to 75lbs.
- Must have the ability to exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and OT.
- Ability to pass pre-employment processes including criminal background check, physical and drug screen.
- Possess and provide for own use, adequate mechanic tools to perform basic mechanical duties of assigned job function.
Basic Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Previous experience doing preventative maintenance.
- Experience in diagnosing and repair of Class 8 diesel engines, hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, electrical, air conditioning
