Job Description

Under general supervision, the Janitor performs general custodial and environmental service work to ensure Francois Bend Senior Living maintains a clean and safe environment for all residents, employees, and guests.

Janitor/Maintenance

• Deliver internal and external guest service the Francois Bend Senior Living way by ensuring every interaction is superb.
• Perform tasks to maintain the daily appearance of all common areas of Francois Bend Senior Living.
• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming: strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Gather and empty restroom trash.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with any repairs, moving of furniture, and/or general handy work.
• Notify management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating supplies.
• Other duties as assigned

Education / Training / Experience:

·        -Previous janitorial or maintenance experience preferred

·       -  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

·       -  Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population

·        - Interact with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner

·        - Knowledge and experience with floor care and equipment desired.

Physical Demands

·        Team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms

·        Team member is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 

·        Team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
