We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Director of Activities to lead our Life Enrichment team. This individual will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of programs that support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive well-being of our residents.


Position Summary:

The Director of Activities will design and implement a dynamic calendar of recreational, educational, and social events that reflect the interests and abilities of our residents. This leadership role is instrumental in creating a vibrant, inclusive environment that promotes resident engagement and overall quality of life.


Key Responsibilities:

  • ·        Develop and oversee monthly activity calendars featuring a wide range of programs.

    ·        Facilitate and supervise group activities including arts and crafts, music, fitness classes, games, and community outings.

    ·        Plan and coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, and resident recognition.

    ·        Collaborate with nursing, dietary, and therapy departments to ensure holistic resident care.

    ·        Recruit, train, and manage activity assistants and volunteers.

    ·        Track resident participation and gather feedback to evaluate program effectiveness.

    ·        Ensure all activities comply with regulatory guidelines and safety protocols.

    ·        Maintain inventory of supplies and manage the department budget efficiently.

    Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a long-term care or healthcare setting.
  • Certified Activity Director (NCCAP or equivalent).
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with older adults.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
