Full Time Class B CDL Bus Driver- Lodge Retirement Community
JOB PURPOSE
The Activities Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents/staff to and from scheduled activities/events
under the direction of the Activities Director and in accordance with current, federal and state standards and
regulations and facility policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide safe and on-time transportation for resident activities
Assist residents with boarding and un-boarding the vehicle
Perform inspection of facility vehicle prior to every trip and report any damage or safely concerns to Activities
Director
Report all accidents and incidents to Activities Director
Provide current proof of insurability annually or as requested
Communicate in a positive manner with healthcare team members, residents, families, visitors and vendors
Adhere to facility policies and procedures, including infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations
Responsible for attending in-service programs, educational workshops and meetings as required by the facility
and state
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
Must possess a current Driver’s License or Commercial Driver’s License with a passenger endorsement if
required by vehicle size
Must possess personal vehicle insurance coverage and provide ongoing proof of coverage
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and, to work independently and as a part of a team
Ability to remain calm and cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotional upset and at times, hostile elderly
Must be in good general health and free of communicable diseases
Must have visual acuity and ability to hear, with or without use of prosthetics
Must have the physical ability to lift, push, pull and move equipment in excess of 25 pounds
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents from the vehicle and/or activity if needed
Must have the ability to read, write and speak the English language
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works under the supervision of the Activities Director and facility Administrator
Works primarily on the road outside the facility
May be required to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays and on other shifts when
necessary.
