As a Cashier/Pets Associate, you’re not only selling items to customers, you’re helping pet parents find the best products that suit their pets' lives.
Cashier/Sales

Greeting customers and helping with any questions/concerns they may have on the sales floor.

Upselling products to increase sales, offer special products and push reward account sign ups.

Assisting with customer checkout, returns and exchanges

Answer all incoming phone calls to the store and ability to transfer calls.

Stocking, scanning, and facing shelves for ease of display and condense areas for any product overflow.

Maintaining a neat, clean and organized environment.

Clean shelves, windows, dog wash area and floors (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping)

Gathering carts inside and outside of store premises

Learning and Following all company procedures set into place (Incident reports, Inventory procedure, coupons, refunds and more)

Prioritizing tasks set and being able to multitask when needed

Helping out with additional duties deemed necessary by the manager on shift.

Taking lunch breaks when asked by managers.

Checking all animal equipment is working effectively and at full power (fish tanks, filters, light bulbs and more)

Clean/maintain all animal habitats, properly feed and water all animals

Hold and handle all animals when needed

Price, label and place merchandise in correct display
-
Reporting any ripped, torn or damaged merchandise, signs, tags or equipment.

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Employee Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required
-
Retail experience
-
Basic animal knowledge
-
Cash handling and counting
-
Organizational skills
-
Customer service skills
-
Ability to stand, move, bend, bag and reach up to 50+ lbs
-
Basic computer skills which include but are not limited to: Keyboard functions, mouse, microsoft programs, etc.

Basic math, reading skills and attention to detail

Be able to work as a team

Ability to commute to and from scheduled shifts
Working Conditions

Full-Time position, working over 30 hours a week.

Seasonal changes- due to the sliding door opening and closing, some cold or hot air may come into the store depending on the season. Employee’s should dress appropriately for the temperature and still follow the dress code guidelines located in the employee handbook.

On-site training for position
Pay starts at $11 an hour. Availability for promotion and yearly raises.
Shifts vary between 4 to 8 hours, evening and day shifts available. Weekend availability required.
