POSITION SUMMARY

Tahltan Nation Development Corporation (TNDC) is now accepting resumes for experienced Fuel and Lube Service People with large earthworks and Civil earthwork construction projects experience.

TNDC is looking for those who are committed to a positive and safe work environment, practice safe work procedures and arrive for work on-time and ready for work!

Successful applicants will be required to work in a remote camp setting working 12-hour shifts for a 2 week on/2 week off rotation. This is year-round work performed primarily in an outdoor setting in various types of weather.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager or designate, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and completes daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities.
  • Assists in maintaining a large fleet of equipment in good operating condition, reporting, and logging maintenance requirements or concerns.
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently and be open to run multiple pieces of equipment during your rotation if required.
  • Follow all site, company and client specific safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Adhere to relevant company procedures and policies.
  • Other duties as required.

 

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience as a Fuel & Lube Service Person.
  • Familiarity in operating Excavator, Dozers, Loaders and Rock Trucks in a mining, and/or industrial setting considered an asset.
  • Previous experience with rotational schedules and remote camp life. 
  • Incorporates HS&E concepts into work activities and demonstrates concern for others health & safety (co-workers, clients, and sub trades).
  • Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment with good safety awareness. 
  • Experience with radio communications and protocols.
  • Able to take direction, follow instructions, adapt to changing priorities and multitask.
  • Reliable and dependable.
  • Strong work ethic with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and able to use diagnostics.
  • A team player who works respectfully and cooperatively with others.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Pass mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Possess Valid Ground Disturbance Ticket.
  • Copy of Valid Driver’s License with Airbrake Endorsement.

·        Remain alert and attentive to detail throughout shift, even in extreme weather conditions.

·        Ability to safely lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.
