FT Continuing Care Assistant (CCA)
Hillside Pines is an Eden Registered long-term care facility on the beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia. Located in the heart of Bridgewater, Hillside Pines offers an opportunity for a great work/life balance.
We are currently seeking full time Continuing Care Assistants to join our multidisciplinary team of dedicated care partners.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting clients with various personal care activities (e.g., bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Assist clients with meals and between meal refreshments.
• Documentation (e.g., reporting client concerns, progress notes, incident reports).
• Engage Elders in meaningful activities.
Core Requirements:
• Provincial Continuing Care Assistant Certification
• Persons with related education and/or work experience and are enrolled in or are eligible to be enrolled in CCA RPL Program
• Students in nursing, CCA programs, and international educated nurses will be considered.
• Enthusiasm for working with Elders within the Eden Alternative Model of Care.
• Demonstrated ability to form positive relationships with both Elders and a diverse care partner team at all levels.
• Possess the mental, physical and emotional ability to carry out the requirements of the position.
• Able to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintains a good work-life balance as a means of managing stress/enhancing well-being.
• Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias, Palliative Care, Gentle Persuasive Approach, Customer Service and Eden Associate training and/or experience are definite assets.
