Certified nursing assistants are responsible for providing personal care and assistance to residents as directed by the unit charge nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing or designee. Certified nursing assistants will be responsible for helping residents with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, going to the bathroom, feeding and giving baths/showers. Certified nursing assistants are responsible for observing and reporting changes in residents’ physical and emotional conditions to the unit charge nurse.

Experience/Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must speak, read, write and comprehend English language
- Satisfactory completion of the 75 hour nursing assistant course and testing required
- Certified nursing assistant certificate required
- Valid and current on the Iowa Nurse Aide Registry through the Department of Inspection and Appeals website
