Frontline Support Worker - Casual
Position Status: Casual (On call relief staff for a 24/7 operation)
Location: West Kelowna, BC
Hours of Work: 10-hour shifts offered with the following times: 6:30 am - 4:30 pm, 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm, 8:45 pm - 6:45 am. Required availability includes at least one shift from each time slot per week.
Rate of Pay: $27.54 to $31.61

their children who are at risk of or fleeing domestic abuse? The Kelowna
Women’s Shelter Transition House in West Kelowna is seeking a dedicated casual Frontline
Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in
offering information, education, crisis intervention, and temporary housing to women
and children in need.
Position
Duties:
- Answer incoming calls, provide support, and screen potential clients.
- Admit and discharge women, assess risk, create safety plans, and orient new clients.
- Provide active listening, clarification, needs assessment, and goal setting.
- Ensure safety and comfort of women and children and facilitate and resolve conflicts.
- Arrange transportation and perform household tasks.
- Maintain records, liaise with other agencies, and attend meetings/training.
- Orient and assign duties to new staff, volunteers, and/or students as directed.

Position
Requirements:
- Diploma in a related human/social service field with one-year recent related experience or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of domestic abuse and community resources.
- Ability to provide feminist-centered support with empathy and respect.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Skill in assisting individuals in crisis with non-judgmental services.
- Maintaining records and engaging in program evaluation.
- Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR level B.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check.
