- Education, Licensure, & Certification Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Experience Requirements:
- One (1)+ years of customer service experience required
- One (1)+ years in a medical office setting preferred
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Demonstrates excellence in customer service
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of computers and programs
- Time management skills
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Adheres to MDPA Code of Conduct, Mission, Vision, and Value Statements
- Treat patients, visitors and colleagues with compassion and respect
- Places emphasis on patient quality and customer service
- Works assigned schedule and notifies Management of absence or tardiness according to policy and practice
- Work with all staff to ensure efforts are coordinated and that patients receive high quality care and services
- May be required to cover other shifts and may be required to help cover another clinic locations
- Check in patients in a timely manner and ensure all check in procedures are followed.
- Keep patient informed of clinic process
- Keep the clinic clean,orderly and in compliance with company policy and standards. Ensures a pleasant waiting room and monitors adequate patient/visitors seating. Notify manager of any unusual circumstances
- Work as a team member to ensure clinic efficiencies are within guidelines
- Guide patient through the administrative process, Forms, Follow My Health, Chadis ADD scheduling protocol
- Review all patient paperwork to ensure completeness. Insures collection of all necessary insurance and demographic information. Immediately return to patients all Insurance Cards/Driver Licenses
- Verifies insurance timely and accurately
- Explains insurance benefits and patient responsibility
- Answers phone calls to the clinic. Provides information and refers questions to the appropriate staff member as needed
- Completes daily checklist after each shift. Includes all forms of payment are accounted for and documented
- Participates in staff meetings, keeps informed of information, policies, and expectations
- Work with Managers, Providers and all clinic staff to maintain high customer satisfaction
- Maintain confidentiality of patient, employee and proprietary business information. Understands and follows all company policy and procedures regarding HIPAA
- Timely completes and maintains required and mandatory training
- Follows all company policies pertaining to infection control and hand hygiene
- Follow OSHA and MDPA policies pertaining to safe and secure environment for patients and staff
- Is supportive of company-sponsored community activities and marketing initiative
- Participates in successful completion of reviews and surveys
- Attends all required meetings and training in-services
- Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization
