AI Cloud Engineer
Rapid Strategy is an award-winning, African-American-owned small business providing advanced cybersecurity and IT services to federal and commercial clients. We are currently seeking an Intermediate AI Cloud Engineer to support an existing federal customer, contingent upon contract award. This role is focused on designing and delivering next-generation AI and cloud-based analytics solutions using generative AI models, AWS services, and modern DevSecOps practices. The engineer will work collaboratively across data science, software development, and cloud infrastructure teams to build secure, scalable, and compliant AI capabilities in alignment with federal standards.
Responsibilities
· Design and implement cloud-native AI and analytics solutions using generative models and AWS services.
· Develop and manage secure, repeatable data pipelines, data lakes, and warehouse environments using Amazon S3, Redshift, and DynamoDB.
· Apply Generative AI techniques to solve complex business challenges, leveraging models such as GPT, Claude, LLaMA, and HuggingFace tools.
· Utilize AWS AI services including SageMaker, Bedrock, Comprehend, Rekognition, and Transcribe to accelerate AI delivery.
· Integrate deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and Transformer architectures into scalable cloud environments.
· Lead and contribute to DevSecOps practices, implementing CI/CD pipelines for AI model development, testing, and deployment.
· Maintain and evolve infrastructure using Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab.
· Ensure all systems meet federal cloud compliance standards, including FedRAMP and FISMA.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions aligned to mission needs.
· Serve as a technical contributor and thought leader across multiple AI projects, with accountability for full solution delivery.
· Conduct internal training bootcamps and cross-functional workshops to promote AI adoption and technical knowledge transfer.
Required Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, data science, or AI-focused roles.
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
· Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar programming languages.
· Experience working with data engineering tools and cloud-based architecture.
· Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS AI and Data Services, including Bedrock, SageMaker, Redshift, and S3.
· Experience with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab in production environments.
· Understanding of data governance, privacy, and security principles.
· Hands-on experience implementing DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines for AI/ML workflows.
· Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, or other federal cloud compliance frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with generative AI models such as GPT, Claude, LLaMA, or HuggingFace Transformers.
· Knowledge of PyTorch, Transformer models, and other deep learning frameworks.
· Contributions to open-source AI projects or technical communities.
· AWS AI or Machine Learning certifications.
