Location: 19065 Dr. John Lambert Drive, Suite 2000A, Hammond
Monday-Friday (40 hours per week)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ø Greet patients in a prompt and pleasant manner
Ø Able to handle heavy phone volumes, ensures that callers are transferred to the appropriate department and/or person. Answers calls in a timely manner; identifies department and self when answering the telephone. Able to handle all codes and stat calls proficiently.
Ø Register patients according to established protocols and verify patient’s ID at each visit
Ø Verifies that patient demographic information is accurate and ensures that insurance cards, consents and other admission documents are complete and in order.
Ø Ability to explain required forms to the patient in detail (i.e.: Authorization for Treatment, Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN), Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) questionnaire). Obtains required signatures as needed.
Ø As part of the pre-registration process, contacts patient to verify demographic information, insurance information, and MSP questionnaire.
Ø Informs patients of estimated balance due and collects monies due at time of service.
Ø Balances daily receipts list to cash, checks, and credit card payments received at the end of each day.
Ø Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
Ø Schedule patient appointments and procedures
Ø Verify patient benefits, collect co-pays and payments
Ø Post payments and produces receipts
Ø Calls insurance carriers and patients for follow-up information to complete registration as needed
Ø Scans records into patient encounters
Ø Performs day-to-day administrative functions and general office duties including but not limited to word processing, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones and data entry.
