Front Desk Assistant
The Front Desk Assistant supports daily office operations through routine clerical tasks and consistent front desk coverage. This role ensures a professional reception area and plays a key role in maintaining the safety, security, and cleanliness of the building.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide consistent front desk coverage during business hours
· Greet and direct visitors in a professional manner, following established visitor protocols
· Accept and distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries
· Monitor and restock office supplies; place weekly orders in line with budget guidelines
· Maintain cleanliness and order in the reception area, kitchen, and restrooms throughout the day
· Prepare, set up, and clean up for meetings, training, and office events
· Perform general administrative tasks such as creating presentations, flyers, and announcements
· Prepare workstations for new employees and print nameplates
· Maintain a professional front desk environment by minimizing non-business-related activity or prolonged socializing
· Complete daily mail drop-off at the post office and run occasional errands (e.g., food, supplies)
· Help ensure a safe, secure, and orderly workplace by remaining attentive to front area activity and access
· Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Attention to detail in completing routine tasks
· Ability to work independently and follow directions
· Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professional demeanor
· Professional and helpful attitude toward visitors and staff
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Minimum of one year experience in front desk, reception, or customer service role required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to sit or stand at the front desk for extended periods
· Occasional lifting of items up to 30 pounds
· Ability to perform light cleaning and event setup tasks
SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday from 7:45 to 4:45 with one hour lunch, or 7:45 to 4:15 with 30 minute lunch.
