Who is this opportunity for?  Certified Nursing Assistants who want to continue to climb the nursing career ladder by attending the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School (UCT) Practical Nurse Program.

What does Broad Reach Healthcare offer?

·         Zero Tuition Cost: Firstly, we hire you as a full-time CNA, then we put you through the Practical Nurse Program at UCT covering all school fees.

·         Flexibility: We offer the possibility to take the classes via Zoom right from our classroom at Broad Reach Healthcare in Chatham, saving you the commute to UCT in Bourne.

·         Competitive Remuneration: We continue to pay you for full-time hours, but you only work half-time while you are at school. This gives you the time to study and the resources to do so!

·         Commitment: You commit to working at Broad Reach Healthcare full-time for 3 years once you are a nurse.

Why become an LPN?

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you are a direct care provider who will implement care plans, perform treatments, administer medications, conduct patient teaching, supervise and delegate responsibility to unlicensed assistive personnel, and collaborate on therapeutic treatment protocols.  

When does the LPN Program run?

The Program is scheduled over 40 weeks, beginning in late August of every year, and ending in mid-June. Program graduates are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) to obtain licensure as a Practical Nurse. 

What are the next steps for an LPN?

UCT graduates are prepared for transfer to the Registered Nurse program at Cape Cod Community College should they wish to continue to climb the nursing career ladder. Broad Reach Healthcare offers the same funding opportunity for our LPNs who want to become Registered Nurses.

What if you are not a CNA yet?

If you are not yet a Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant you are not eligible for the LPN Program at Broad Reach Healthcare. However, we have a separate program for candidates who wish to become CNAs! Please see our Careers Page for all the details on our PAID CNA Apprenticeship Program.
