Structural Truss Systems specializes in the design, manufacturing, and transportation of custom roof trusses, floor systems, and wall panels for every size of residential, commercial, and agricultural projects. We operate out of over 38,000 square feet of manufacturing facility in Fort MacLeod, AB, just 25 minutes west of Lethbridge, AB.

We are currently looking to hire the following position in our Structural Truss Systems facility.

Role: Forklift Operator Yard

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Shift: Night Shift 

As a Forklift Operator, you will support the nightly operations of our Manufacturing teams, following the directions provided by the Supervisor and Lead Hands. Your main responsibility will be the safe and efficient transportation of various components used in the production of trusses, ensuring materials are moved to the right locations to maintain a smooth workflow.

• Assist with the nightly upkeep of the truss production areas including trucks, organizing finished products, cleaning & maintaining storage of truss building components, etc.

• Work with team members to set up workstations and prepare materials as directed by the Lead Hand.
• Ensure timeliness and consistency, meeting production standards.
• Always acts with the safety of themselves and others as a top priority.

• Perform regular quality checks on work, materials, and equipment conditions.

• Follow safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and hazards.
• Will always properly use all the required PPE (hi-vis vest, safety glasses, earplugs, CSA-approved work boots, etc.).
• Take ownership of their forklift operations, ensuring safe handling, precise maneuvering, and proper load management.

Key Requirements of the Job:

• Prior forklift experience is a strong asset.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stretch for 8–10-hour shifts in a manufacturing environment.
• Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling 50-75 lbs repeatedly.
• Strong manual dexterity for handling materials and operating tools.
• Proper use of all PPE requirements (hi-vis vest, safety glasses, earplugs, CSA-approved work boots, etc.).
• Must stay alert and focused while operating machinery to ensure safety.
• Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
