The primary purpose of the Foreman is to assist the Superintendent/Project Manager with the daily direction of the project. This is a highly skilled position requiring excellent organizational skills, the ability to train, the ability to complete daily administrative documents as needed, coordinate deliveries and orders to expedite project development.

Primary

  • Ability to perform all tasks of subordinates
  • Administrative daily duties include but are not limited to:
    • Field Logs/Time Cards
    • DVIR, JSA, Incident reports
    • Site security
    • Site safety
    • Project coordination of orders
    • Effective daily communication with crew and Superintendent/Project Managers
    • Accurate accounting of job production numbers
    • Effective communication of crew needs, attendance, disciplinary actions required
    • Efficient communication of equipment needs and servicing requirements
  • Field Duties Include but are not limited to:
    • Efficient plan interpretation
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Master of erosion control devices
    • Understand and apply OSHA and project safety requirements or concerns, and take corrective actions as needed.
    • Ensure all crew members practice safe behaviors, wear proper PPE and comply with all OSHA and project safety requirements.
    • Recommend changes to project schedule in order to improve crew scheduling efficiencies, increase productivity, equipment and methods.
    • Operate vehicles and equipment such as pick-up trucks, track type excavators, skid steers, and farm tractors with various implements.
    • Demonstrate solid team leadership with direct reports and assist with their training and development. Be accessible to employees to address questions or concerns.
    • Ability to meet production goals and direct staff to consistently meet goals
    • Excellent communication with Project Manager
    • Ability to direct 2-10 crew members and ensure production standards are being met 
    • Ability to coomunicate with inspectors, owner representatives, subcontractors, and third-party vendors

 HOURS:

Monday through Friday, 6:00AM to 6:00PM and as needed on weekends during the summer. Winter work will consist of various tasks including helping other crews, applicator training and snow removal operations, which may require working nights, weekends and holidays.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work outside in various weather conditions including but not limited to, heat, cold, rain, snow and ice performing physical manual labor on a variety of surfaces and slopes. This is a fast-paced work environment and you must be able to keep up with the physical demands of the daily work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

·         Strong mental attributes to handle a stressful working environment

·         Ability to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time.

·         Physical Strength; hand eye coordination and endurance.

·         Ability to lift, pull, push up to 80+ lbs.

·         Ability to bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged periods of time.

·         Climbing stairs and ladders; tolerate heights up to 20ft.
