Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Director of Food Service to join our team at our Skilled Nursing Facility in Brooklyn, NY. The Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of food service operations, ensuring that residents receive nutritious, timely, and high-quality meals in a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct daily food service activities to meet departmental goals and objectives.
  • Implement improvements in food service operations to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including NY City, State, and Federal requirements.
  • Manage employee scheduling and staffing to maximize efficiency and service quality.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and staff development in line with HR policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and manage inventory, equipment, and supply needs, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchases.
  • Maintain food production systems and quality controls to guarantee high standards of food safety and resident satisfaction.
  • Supervise meal service operations across all service areas to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Adhere to all safety, infection control, confidentiality, and resident care protocols.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support the role.

Qualifications:

  • Degree from an accredited college/university or completion of a 120-hour Dietary Management course.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience in food service management, preferably within a healthcare or long-term care setting.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination is required.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in long-term care settings.
    • Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
