Floral & Event Design Intern

The Sales and Design department of The JDK Group and Weddings by JDK seeks a passionate

and results-driven intern to assist with all design and execution aspects for this upcoming 

event and wedding season.

The candidate will work closely with the Design team to ensure all floral production and design-

related elements are handled in a timely and professional manner. Excellent eye for creative

design, organizational skills, and the ability to critically think, problem solve and prioritize are a

huge asset. The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is required.

We are only accepting one candidate for the Fall / Winter and require a minimum of 24 hours a

week to participate in the internship program. This internship can be done for college credit if

coordinated as such by the student/advisor.

Key Responsibilities

? Assist the Director of Design and Innovation in weekly tasks required in preparation

for the floral and design department to prepare for upcoming events.

? Assist in the floral design and production area- learning to process, handle and

organize large orders of fresh flowers for each week’s wedding and events.

? Assist in the preparation of vases, décor and other hard goods needed for weekly

events. With proper experience the applicant may be asked to assist and learn to create

arrangements and other various design elements such as ceremony aisle décor pieces.

? Assist in database entry using various databases and creation of visually appealing

design proposals.

? Assist in office related errands and general administration needs when requested to

fulfill department ease.

? Serve as primary support for the Director of Design and Innovation on and off site.

? Familiar with the basics of Microsoft Word and Excel
