Fit Floor Attendant
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fit Floor Attendant position supports the work of the YMCA of Collier County, Inc., a leading not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening the communities in Collier County through its core focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. This position interacts with new and existing members to help them in achieving their health and well-being goals and creates a welcoming environment for members of all backgrounds and abilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coaches members in support of their desired behavior change. Regularly checks on members’ progress in meeting personal and program goals.
Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living.
Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
Conduct wellness evaluation and program recommendation for all new members.
Monitor Wellness Floor while communicating with members offering suggestions to enhance member workouts, correction of bad form, and providing spots; provide equipment and program recommendations.
Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA. Introduces new members to group exercise communities based their health and well-being goals.
Utilizes tools and information for the purpose of increasing member knowledge of wellness as well as wellness programs provided through the YMCA (handouts, schedules, etc.). Record daily use statistics.
Check appointment book and initial appointments at beginning of shift; meet appointment at the check-in desk.
Schedule follow-up appointments with members to ensure they are getting the most out of their membership.
May conduct post-enrollment interviews to understand new members’ definition of well-being, personal goals, cultural background, healthcare needs, diverse abilities and interests and develops plans to meet their individual needs.
Maintains a safe, clean and functional workout space. Cleans equipment daily or as requested by supervisor.
Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Document any accidents, injuries, or incidents.
Communicate and enforce policies and guidelines for the equipment area.
Attends all staff meetings and trainings; keep certifications current.
Performs other duties as assigned.
