About the Role
The Fish Processing Supervisor oversees the fish processing facility at Moutcha Bay Resort, ensuring regulatory compliance, high-quality processing, excellent guest service, and smooth departmental operations. This role supervises Fish Processor staff, manages workflow, and ensures a safe, efficient, and well-organized facility.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise departmental staff including onboarding, training, scheduling, task assignment, coaching, and performance reviews.
· Ensure compliance with DFO regulations, CFIA food safety standards, and company policies.
· Oversee all fish processing activities: receiving, weighing, filleting, vacuum packing, labeling, freezing, and documentation.
· Maintain facility cleanliness, sanitation logs, and refrigeration logs.
· Handle guest service within the processing facility including forms, payments, product pickup, and information.
· Manage departmental administration: guest info tracking, fish tracking, cash-outs, inventory, payroll submission, and supply purchasing.
· Resolve guest complaints professionally and coordinate with management as needed.
· Monitor safety hazards, enforce safe work practices, and coordinate seasonal opening/closing procedures.
· Communicate regularly with other departments and coordinate maintenance and operational needs.
· Monitor VHF radio, assist guides with fish transport, and ensure proper transportation and disposal of offal.
Qualifications
Required
· Legally entitled to work in Canada
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of 2 years professional fish processing experience
· Class 5 driver’s licence and abstract
· PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card)
· Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
· Food Safe Level 1 or Process Safe
· Strong administrative and organizational skills
· WHMIS certification
Preferred
· ROC (Restricted Operator’s Certificate)
· OFA1 (Occupational First Aid Level 1)
