THE POSITION
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Senior Financial Analyst with at least 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience, preferably within the real estate or construction industries. The ideal candidate will be flexible, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. This role will require strong analytical skills, financial reporting expertise, and the ability to collaborate with both internal and external teams.
The position will be directly reporting to the Director of of Finance & Operations, working alongside with the accounting team from the Ottawa/Toronto office.
This role will be a “working on-site” model, and required to work in the office 5 days a week.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monthly Reporting Review: Analyze and review monthly financial reports from both internal and external accountants to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Financial Project Analysis: Provide thorough financial analysis for current and potential projects, offering insights that support decision-making.
- Budgeting & Projections: Prepare detailed financial projections and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Lender & Banking Liaison: Communicate with bank account managers and lenders to manage financing requirements and address banking needs.
- Audit Support: Prepare audit requests and address queries during audit and review processes.
- Special Projects: Lead or support special projects and prepare ad hoc financial reports as required.
- System & Process Enhancement: Maintain and enhance accounting systems, ensuring that internal controls are effective. Work closely with the accounting team to streamline and improve financial processes.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting/financial reporting, preferably in the real estate or construction industries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or other accounting certification is a plus).
- Skills:
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with advanced proficiency in financial analysis and budgeting.
- Familiarity with accounting software and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams and adapt to changing needs.
