Financial Accountant
Job Summary:
The financial accountant is responsible for repetitive and tactical financial aspects of Vitality Healthcare Management including Accounts payable, resident trust, and monthly financial close.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
· Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs.
· Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors.
· Analyzing workflow processes; including developing new processes to increase efficiency and accuracy of financial systems.
· Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors.
· Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
· Processing due invoices for payments.
· Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.
· Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts.
· Reconcile bank accounts with the Administrator to ensure account accuracy.
Resident Trust
· Resident Trust management
· Resident trust reconciliation/audit
Month End
· Performs month end close process for Vitality Healthcare Management including:
o Account reconciliation
o Reviewing transactions for accuracy
o Adjust entries when needed
o Run month end reports
o Analyze community performance
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Good oral and written communication skills.
· Critical thinking skills and ability to make sound decisions.
· Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently with the public and to remain calm under stress.
· Knowledge of all confidentiality requirements regarding patients and strict maintenance of proper confidentiality on all such information.
· Must be able to type at least 55-60 wpm and use a 10-key calculator.
· Knowledge of medical terminology, spelling and office ethics.
· Must be able to maintain confidentiality of records and information received.
· Must be able to work with frequent disruptions throughout the day.
· Must maintain good working relationships with family members and community representatives.
· Previous experience with computer terminals required.
Education and Experience:
· AA Degree or higher required. Will consider work experience.
· Must have at least two years of experience in an office setting, preferably in a health care facility.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Some bending and reaching.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
