Finance Summer Student

Havergal College is a pre-eminent Canadian independent school for girls from JK to 12. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our faculty and staff in a ‘Summer Student’ capacity. May to September 2024, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Position Description:

The Finance Summer Student will assist with accounting processes, such as transactions, analysis and period end; and, will assist with all aspects of the operation of the Green and Gold Shop.

The main responsibilities of this Summer Student position include:

• Provide support with day to day accounting and financial tasks
• Investigate financial queries within our Finance system
• Assist with the follow-up and tracking of cost centre expenses
• Perform variance analysis on accounts at each period-end
• Fill online orders as they are received through the Green and Gold online shop
• Coordinate schedule and organize orders and returns
• Assist students/parents with purchase of Uniform items
• Operate functions on the POS system to include updates to clients list and inventory
• Receive new inventory
• Stock inventory and keep shelves organized and neat
• Analysis or project work as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

• University/College Student in a Finance related program
• Must be detail-oriented and well-organized
• Must have computer skills, familiar with Excel
