Finance Manager

Under the direction of the executive director, the finance manager develops, maintains and administers the society's financial requirements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, participates in the management of business services, oversees apartment subsidies and the travel club.

In conjunction with the executive director, prepare and manage the society's budget. Supervise expenditures within the budget and make budget recommendations. Manage and monitor all society finances including accounts payable and receivable. Verify, balance and reconcile bank accounts. Manage all aspects of payroll and benefits administration. Maintain internal system for audit purposes for benefit premiums, vacation and sick time tracking and accruals. Complete management of GST. Complete month-end functions. Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports. Participate in funding contract negotiations and complete reporting requirements.  Provide financial information as required. Ensure the proper maintenance and administration of all finances in accordance with policy and relevant legislation. Complete year-end working papers and assist auditor where necessary.

 QUALIFICATIONS

Third year level of C.A., C.G.A., C.M.A.  Minimum of a diploma or equivalent certification in a college level training program related to business administration and management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy. 

Possess the following: Physician's Declaration of good Physical and Mental Health, COVID Vaccinations, Satisfactory Criminal Records search, Valid Drivers License, business class car insurance and a Satisfactory Drivers Abstract. Will be expected to take advantage of upgrading opportunities.

Experience in Sage 300 is an asset. Minimum three years experience in business administration, development and employee management.  Mathematical skills with ability to analyze and quantify data. Proven ability to organize work efficiently and execute assignments accurately with attention to detail. Previous experience in the community living sector and unionized environment preferred. 

Hours of Works: Part-time 20 hours per week

Hourly Wage: $34.00 and negotiable
