Field Services & Calibration Technician/Engineer
Location: Indianapolis, IN | Salary: $60,000–$70,000 + bonus + benefits

Core Technical Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site calibration of instruments and equipment (pressure, temperature, flow, electrical, dimensional, etc.)
  • Execute preventive maintenance and functional testing
  • Adjust, repair, or troubleshoot instruments to bring them within tolerance
  • Use calibration standards and reference equipment properly
  • Follow SOPs, ISO, GMP, or other regulatory requirements

Documentation & Compliance

  • Generate and maintain accurate calibration reports
  • Document “as found” and “as left” conditions
  • Ensure traceability to NIST or other governing standards
  • Maintain calibration records in CMMS or client systems
  • Support audits and compliance reviews

Field Service & Client Interaction

  • Travel to client sites (often independently)
  • Communicate findings clearly and professionally
  • Represent the company in a client-facing capacity
  • Identify additional service needs or upsell opportunities when appropriate

Equipment & Asset Management

  • Maintain and safeguard company calibration tools and standards
  • Ensure personal calibration equipment remains within certification
  • Manage service schedules and prioritize work orders

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Diagnose root causes of out-of-tolerance equipment
  • Recommend corrective actions
  • Improve service efficiency and accuracy over time
