Position Summary
SOMOS-IWT Field Service Engineers are responsible for effectively providing services to support the on-site installation, start-up, training, and maintenance, of advanced diamond wire saws, and the individual products which comprise these systems.
Responsibilities
· Field service for saws and lapping/polishing equipment globally
· Provide technical support to customers
· Provide basic process support to customers
· Installation of start-ups and commissioning of equipment
· Assemble and troubleshoot specialty equipment prior to shipping
· Instruct customer on applications, machine operation and safety at customer locations
· Ability to learn or perform PLC, HMI, and Drive commissioning and configuration
· Train customers on machine maintenance procedures at customer location
· Provide remote support to customers
· Manage customer accounts and service scheduling
· Assist with creating technical documentation.
· Troubleshoot complex PLC motion and control systems
Minimum Requirements
- self-motivated and willingness to work in demanding environments with little or no supervision and take initiative to be proactive.
- Valid driver's license
- Associate or bachelor's degree in an engineering or technology discipline preferred or equivalent experience
- 1-5 years of experience servicing CNC machine manufacturing equipment to support industries such as semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, and medical.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to represent the company in a professional capacity.
- Exceptional electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills
- To work independently and think on the fly.
- Utilize company diagnostic tools and documentation to resolve equipment issues.
- Must possess or have ability to obtain US passport for travel outside US
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods
- Create documented procedures and published task plans
- Represent SOMOS IWT to the customer in a professional manner, prioritizing the customer’s needs
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
