Field Guide - Northern Saskatchewan
The successful candidate will assist a Crew Lead from WSP with aquatic field sampling activities. This work includes supporting the collection of water quality samples, fish tissue samples and aquatic and fish habitat assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Guide and assist the field crew across northern terrain to sampling sites
• Support aquatic sampling activities and specimen collection
• Operate provided equipment such as ATVs, boats, and snowmobiles
• Assist with drilling through ice and retrieving lake-bed samples during winter conditions
• Ensure safe travel and awareness of local environmental conditions
• Daily preparation and inspection of equipment and supplies
• Assist with hauling, packing and storage of technical equipment and supplies as required
• Provide support on required safety equipment and supplies
Qualifications:
· Class 5 Driver’s Licence
· Experience operating ATVs, boats, and snowmobiles
· Familiar with northern terrain and traveling in various outdoor conditions
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Drug and Alcohol Testing
· Familiar with environmental restrictions and regulations of the area
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, overnights, and weekends as required for site scheduling
