NATURE OF WORK

Before a fiber optic system can be built, detailed construction prints must be produced and all applicable permits secured.   Before this can be done, data must be collected from routes where the systems will be built – aerial or underground.  The Field Engineer is responsible for “walking the system” (3-5 miles per day) and capturing data which is transmitted to Veritas’s Mapping and Permitting Group.  Data is captured via “pencil and paper” and via the deployment of both simple and sophisticated measuring equipment.
