Family Support Clinician
Provide therapeutic services, case management, assessment and referrals to children and their families. Consult with center staff and parents regarding the needs of individual children. This position works with children in preschool and school age groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Regularly consult with Center Directors regarding children’s social/emotional needs, behaviors and family issues.

Observe, assess and provide intervention around social/emotional needs of children.

Facilitate team meetings, developing individual plans for children that may include family supports.

Facilitate communication between staff and parents.

Facilitate communication and coordinate planning between South Shore Stars and relevant collateral services.

Provide short-term clinical interventions for children and families.
-
Coordinate services with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) for children enrolled through DCF.

Consult with staff on interventions related to abuse/neglect and other child and family issues.

Create behavioral interventions and coach staff on behavioral intervention with children.

Develop and conduct prevention and education programs for children and parents.

Develop and provide training for staff.

Attend Family Support Team meetings and contribute to the ongoing planning and development of the department.

Participate in fundraising, advocacy, and other activities necessary to support Stars.

Report all issues of concern to Director of Family Support.

Meet weekly with the Director of Family Support for individual supervision.

Maintain proper documentation requested by the agency.

All other assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy
