Training Specialist (Part-Time)

The Training Specialist is responsible for coordinating comprehensive training and education programs for Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) professionals, Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) staff with a focus on child abuse prevention and investigation. This role ensures compliance with Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas (CACTX) standards and CAC working protocols regarding training and supports the custodian of records in responding to subpoenas for training and service records. Responsibilities include seeking opportunities to enhance training for CAC staff and multidisciplinary team members.
Essential Functions
1. Training Coordination:
- Coordinate, and deliver training sessions for Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) partners and CAC staff in alignment with CACTX standards, CAC working protocols, and agency priorities.
- Maintain and oversee internal and external training calendars to ensure effective scheduling and communication with agency partners.
- Collaborate closely with MDT members, external partners, and CAC leadership to develop high-quality, relevant training programs that strengthen interagency coordination and response.
2. Administrative Support:
- Report generation and tracking of completion metrics
- Assist with procurement and coordination of training-related materials, including supplies, meals, beverages, and logistics for training events.
- Provide direct support to the Director of the Training Institute in executing training initiatives and conducting compliance audits.
Travel
- This position will be based in the Lewisville or Denton, TX office. Travel to all offices (Lewisville, Denton, Bridgeport, Jacksboro) and within Denton, Wise, and Jack Counties is required.
Education and Training
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
Experience
- Experience in creating and/or presenting training programs (required)
- Peace Officer license with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, or 4 years with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (preferred)
- Instructor Certification with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (preferred)
- Knowledge of Law Enforcement/DFPS investigative procedures (preferred)
- Experience with CACTX standards and CAC working protocols (preferred)
- Video production/editing skills (preferred)
