Facility Technician
Provides general and detailed building and property maintenance for agency locations. Trains Residents in property maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Supervise Residents in the Maintenance Training Program.
• Train residents in appropriate areas of facility technician duties.
• Prepare rooms for move in by residents.
• Setup and break down meeting areas as described in E-space event software.
• Maintain floors in a clean state by sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing, and mopping.
• Assist staff to keep offices free of trash, mop, clean floors.
• Empty and clean trash receptacles and collect recycling.
• Clean, sanitize, and supply bathrooms.
• Clean and service custodial equipment as needed.
• Perform minor repairs on furniture, buildings, and equipment.
• Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to supervisor.
• Lock and unlock windows, doors, and gates.
• Ensure grounds areas are clean and orderly.
• Use appropriate PPE when required. Use safety signs etc. as needed / required.
• Perform other minor maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Have a NC driver’s license.
• Ability to use a smartphone and use a computer with Microsoft windows and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing assigned duties.
• Possess working knowledge of the methods, technique, and materials used in custodial work.
• Ability to climb ladders and work from heights.
• Familiar with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies.
