Facility Operator at CMN

Reporting to the Operations Lead at the location, the Facility Operator supports the daily efforts of ensuring our equipment, facilities, and warehouse are running as safely and efficiently as possible.  With a strong focus on a positive customer experience, they direct customers throughout the location, unload/load product (chem, seed, fertilizer) and deliver product to farm when required.  To maintain accurate inventory and account management, the Facility Operator works with the Sales and Administration team at the location to ensure the details of the sale and paperwork is complete. This role is key to CMN upholding our core value of ensuring we get our customers the right products in the right place, at the right time.   

Responsibilities

  • Provide regular updates on inventory levels
  • Follow maintenance schedules for all equipment and CMN Assets
  • Complete required Health, Safety & Environment documentation
  • Assist with the receipt or loading out of product (bulk chemical, seed and fertilizer) to the warehouse; using a loader/forklift 
  • Assist customer pick-up/internal transfers of product
  • Deliver product to local customers; contact customer for location and arrival time if required.  
  • Ensure the facility is keep clean and free of hazards
  • Greet and direct visitors and customers who arrive at the location for service
  • Work with Sales & Admin team to ensure a smooth customer experience
  • Follow Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures

Qualifications 

  • Preferred Class 1 or Class 3 license; but not a requirement 
  • Able to operate a forklift, loader and tractor 
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision 
  • Be self-motivated, a self-starter and be well organized, must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Must have ability to follow safety, production and quality requirements 
  • Must be able to use applicable computer systems for inventory and customer account management. Able to navigate Office 365 Programs (Teams and Outlook) 
  • Able to coordinate and manage several projects at a time 
  • Ability to meet the company’s policy requirements by completing a criminal background check, and drivers abstract 
  • Obtain First Aid, WHIMIS, TDG & Forklift Training 
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Able to work overtime in spring season.
  • Adhere to the company Health, Safety & Environmental Program

In the field: 

  • Longer hours in busy season (spring & early summer)
  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.) 
  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures 
  • May be required to work at varying heights 
  • Lift 50 - 75 lbs.
