Facility Operator

Objective:
The Facility Operator must conduct the day-to-day operations in a professional & safe manner in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain yourself in a professional manner while working at the Valero Asphalt Corpus Christi Facility. Mandatory attendance for safety meetings is required.
- Show up promptly at the scheduled work start time. Team Members are required to notify Supervisor the night before if sick or unable to make it to work the following day.
- Operate equipment to offload cargo as directed by the facility.
- Wears all required PPE for task and cargo to be handled in accordance with Company, customer and facility requirements.
- Perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks such as completing routine preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, removing trash and debris from facility, cleaning up loose product, and assisting customer and company crew members on all operational tasks.
- Perform JSA (Job Safety Analysis)
- Communicates any unsafe conditions that create an unacceptable risk that cannot be mitigated to an acceptable level of risk prior to performing any task.
Required Job Skills:
- Organized, detail-oriented, accurate, self-motivated and multi-task oriented
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and the ability to operate complex operations, including, but not limited to, operating equipment in barges, working around & operating a large E-Crane operation, and strong communication and people skills.
- The ability to understand and follow safety procedures, and execute site-specific job procedures and, subject to completion of the required training necessary for the operation of the E-Crane, performing relief crane operator duties.
- The ability to understand the obligation that you must stop operations if an unsafe act is being performed.
