Weekend Facility Care Attendant, Part Time

Saturday Noon-7pm and Sunday 8am-6:30pm

• Part time 

• Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. May complete duties related to window washing, meeting set up, and other related responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

• May be responsible for opening/closing the building.

• Ensures the YMCA is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintaining the upkeep of assigned areas and equipment. Performs washing and drying towels, locker room/shower cleaning, restroom room cleaning, filling soaps, paper towels, toilet paper, etc., wet and dust mopping, dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, recycling, window cleaning, and assisting with maintenance.

• Records and reports all needed repairs; repair as directed.

• Ensures YMCA building and property are secure during shift and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age with one year or more of related experience preferred.

• Ability to work constantly throughout the shift.

• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.

• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.

• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.

• Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.

• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

• Ability to work well with others, including staff and members.

Physical Demands:

• Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.

• Ability to erect and stand on ladders and platforms at heights up to 10 feet.

• Ability to work with cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, paint, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms.

• Ability to clean various areas, clean equipment, and operate motorized equipment as needed.

• Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.

• Ability to assist in essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi – reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; carrying, working in narrow and/or confining spaces: overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back.
