Employee Benefits:

·         Healing Lodge employment may qualify for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program as well as loan repayment through Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) 

 

About the Company

The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations is a youth residential treatment facility which provides a safe and caring healing environment for adolescents in need.  Located on 51 acres, our wellness program provides a peaceful environment for treatment balanced in traditional, cultural and spiritual values and practices. These values and practices foster respect, honesty, generosity, strong cultural identification and hope for positive life changes.  The Healing Lodge treatment program integrates traditional, spiritual and cultural values with chemical dependency and mental health counseling to create a holistic approach toward healing.  Residents include both Native American and non-Native from all areas of the country.

 

About the Position

Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and facility. Follows established guidelines and specifications for the Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.  Must be able to read, write, and understand English.

·         Works with the facilities department to maintain and repair the Healing Lodge buildings to include: landscaping, vehicle maintenance, outdoor recreational areas; plumbing; electrical; HVAC; door hardware; drywall repair/painting; general carpentry; etc.

·         Immediately report departmental needs; safety issues/concerns to the facilities manager and in the work order management system.

·        Perform safety and other inspections of the weight room and equipment to ensure everything is always operating in good condition.

·        Utilizes Work Order Software for organizing, completing, and recording repairs and other work order requests

·        Relocate staff offices (or other spaces) and set up equipment such as computers, monitors, printers, and phones, works with other departments to ensure that everything has been properly cleaned and disinfected for a professional looking work environment.

·        Professionally perform repairs to office spaces and community areas.

·        Assemble furniture

·        Run and/or pull date wire, hook up switches, TV cable and other infrastructure needs.

·        Assist onsite contractors when needed

·        Change light bulbs, ballasts, and other lighting needs.

·         Use hand tools, table saws, chain saws, planers, drills, reciprocating saws, hole saws, etc. in a safe and prudent manner

·         Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all housekeeping equipment, including scrubber, electric buffers, vacuums, etc.

·      Operates a snow plow, snow blowers, tractors, brush hogs, lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, high lift, power washers, and other owned and rented equipment in a safe and responsible manner

·      Ability to do routine maintenance and minor repairs on the various tools and equipment used in the Facility Department

·      Clean and maintain Healing Lodge vehicles, working with various departments to ensure vehicles are safe, operable and in compliance with GSA standards.

·      Conduct new employee driving tests for both GSA vehicles and golf carts.

·         Janitorial/housekeeping duties as required ie: spot cleaning, deep cleaning, sanitize living quarters, common areas, and other daily cleaning needs.

·      Perform other duties as assigned

 

Position Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:

·      High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

·      Must have 2  to 5 years building maintenance experience to include: mechanical experience, HVAC experience, boiler maintenance etc.

·      Gas, Mechanical, or other related license/certification preferred

 

Physical Demands:

·      Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, 25-40 lbs frequently, up to 75 lbs occasionally

·      Bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling frequently

·      Reaching, extending hands and arms in any direction

·      Standing or climbing on stool or ladder occasionally

 

Skills and Abilities:

·   Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new skills and understand both verbal and written instructions and underlying principles

·      Must be a team player who works well with others, is a self-starter, who can work with limited supervision and be flexible

·      Strong computer skills;  Office 365; Energy Management Systems; Work order software; etc

·      Time management skills are critical to this position. Ability to prioritize tasks.

·      Must be sensitive to Native American Culture and Spirituality

·      Must have current driver's license with good driving record

·         NOISE INTENSITY LEVEL- Frequently high levels of noise due to machinery

·        EQUIPMENT USED- Uses typical housekeeping and maintenance equipment such as mechanics tools, construction tools, maintenance tools including but not limited to hammers, screwdrivers, electric drills, saws, etc.
