Averill Hospitality is seeking a Facilities Manager to join our Engineering/Maintenance Team.

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the management and leadership to the entire Engineering team and ensure the property, adjacent warehouse structures and employee housing are operating in optimal condition. Also responsible for the development of the Maintenance Team and staying abreast of compliance regulations and procedures in the field of Engineering and Maintenance, as required for hotel standards. Manage the Maintenance Team, HOA Maintenance team to efficiently maintain all hotel operations such that safety, security, conversation, and compliance are ensured at the highest levels. This position is responsible for all aspects of the Engineering department to include the proper operation, maintenance and repair of all HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, life safety, security electrical and mechanical equipment/systems. The Facility Manager will develop, coordinate and monitor all guest rooms and public spaces, equipment, and PM programs to ensure the reliability, safety, and comfort of all staff and guests as well as supervise, train and manage all Engineering staff. This position will report to the Area Director of Operations and/or General Manager. 

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Advanced knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.
  • Mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment.
  • Skill in the use of related tools (including both hand and electric tools).
  • Basic English language communication and mathematical skills in order to communicate with coworkers fully comprehend job assignments and perform accurate simple arithmetic functions.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping and kneeling.
  • Ability to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 80 lbs. Ability to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 30 feet, for extended periods of time, with the ability to reach, often overhead.
  • Ability to grasp, lift or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally waist high.
  • Ability to move and work throughout the hotel for the duration of the shift.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

EDUCATION

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from trade school or a combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High school diploma required and college degree in related field preferred

EXPERIENCE

Basic experience in maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.  Previous experience of facilities and people management.

The Facilities Manager position is expected to normally keep a 5 day a week schedule, 40 hours per week can be expected, however it can be more or less depending on the business needs.
