Facilities Manager
Responsible For: Responsible for controlling the total maintenance of the facility in coordination with agency’s mission.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Graduate or Equivalent. A minimum of two years of maintenance experience and at least one year of supervision experience.
Basic Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to make fair, sound and reasonable decisions; have good communication and organizational skills and demonstrate good supervision skills. Must have the ability to occasionally lift or move heavy materials in difficult work positions.
FUNCTION: Responsible for the maintenance of the facility to ensure smooth and safe daily operations. Trains maintenance staff to adequately assist in the maintenance of the facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for controlling the total maintenance of the facility and the overall facility appearance. Directly responsible for all preventive maintenance within the confines of an annual budget, including all heating, air conditioning, as well as maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment.
2. Coordinates all construction/destruction projects, including appropriate third-party contractor support, as needed.
3. Directly supervises maintenance staff. Trains, coaches and manages performance of maintenance specialists.
4. Assigns work and oversees work projects (while minimizing overtime and call-in hours).
5. Supervises youth involved in appropriate maintenance projects, ensuring their safety. Provides a positive role model for them to emulate.
6. Provides therapeutic interventions to residents as part of the facility’s Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) and/or Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services (mentoring and coaching on work ethics, safety and basic job skills, independent living skills etc.).
7. When providing TBS/PSR services, documents the interactions through accurate and timely session notes.
8. Enforces safety and sound housekeeping practices.
9. Maintains up to date records for all state and federal inspections.
10. Responsible for hazardous waste disposal and storage in accordance with state and federal regulations.
11. Procures quotes periodically to ensure the most competitive service contractor costs.
12. Maintains 24/7 on-call availability in case of emergent maintenance issues.
13. Keeps up on technological changes to meet today’s new laws and efficiency standards.
14. Completes child abuse referrals as required of all mandated reporters.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
