Facilities Manager
Contribute to the overall success of The Inn at Ocean’s Edge by maintaining the performance, upkeep, general repair, and improvement of our grounds, pool/hot tub and buildings. Perform such maintenance tasks in a professional and timely manner so as to minimize the visibility of any defect to the guests, and to ensure their confidence in the business and the comfort of their stay. Ensure the execution of clean, well-groomed facilities, without defect or damage, overseeing the proper care and general repair of all grounds, the Pool, Poolhouse, Main Inn, Hilltop, promoting a safe environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction. Must have carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills as well as in-depth knowledge of proper use and maintenance of power tools and equipment. Must be willing to complete Certified Pool/Spa Operator certification. Strong leadership and motivation required. Year round position. $22-$26 per hour.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Ensure the execution of clean, well-groomed facilities, without defect or damage, overseeing the proper care and general repair of all grounds, the Pool, Poolhouse, Main Inn, Hilltop, The Edge, and Barns, promoting a safe environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
· Ensure the healthy care of lawns and gardens
· Ensure the daily cleaning and maintenance of Pool and Hot Tub
· Ensure that the walking trail system is safe, clean, appropriately signed and lit
· Ensure that all property signage is sufficient and in good condition
· Oversee and maintain property during the winter months (the Inn is closed Nov thru April) which includes buildings, grounds, and snow removal. Participate in off-season property improvements as planned by Innkeeper
· Maintain standards of safety as required by MEMIC and OSHA
· Ensure proper maintenance of waste and recycling areas and ensure scheduling for removal and overall recycling program is consistent with the goals of Migis Hotel Group
· Ensure the proper care and use of all maintenance/grounds tools and equipment including but not limited to golf carts, tractor, mowers, chain saws, leaf blowers, snow blower, furniture (lawn and Inn) and all pool equipment and that they are supported with a comprehensive maintenance program
· Ensure clean and safe working conditions in the garage and barn
· Communicate any maintenance or operational issues clearly and concisely with General Manager, or in their absence, with the Operator Manager (OM)
· Ensure maintenance employees are staffed to forecasted business and labor targets. Effectively lead staff towards greater consistency to increase productivity while maintaining optimum service to guests
· Ensure maintenance employees’ standards are met for behavior, uniform, and hygiene
· Listen to the comments and complaints of the guests and staff regarding maintenance issues, communicate effectively with Innkeeper and front desk to ensure issues are addressed in a
timely manner
· Have a desire to learn about maintenance techniques beyond ones current skill set, possibly including schooling, online research and learning from professionals hired to come work on property
· Form working relationships with retailers and professionals in the area in order to get improved products and services
· Keep a daily log of all maintenance activities
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be eligible to work in the United States
· Must have carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills as well as in-depth knowledge of proper use and maintenance of power tools and equipment
· Must have knowledge of landscape and grounds maintenance.
· Must be willing to learn in areas where more skill is needed.
· Must have strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
· Must have completed Certified Pool/Spa Operator certification
· Must have positive work ethic, willing to interface with the guests to achieve in creating a positive guest experience
· Must be a strong team player and work for the greater good of the Inn at Ocean’s Edge and the Migis Hotel Group
ABILITIES REQUIRED:
· Frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, lifting and repetitive motions
· Occasional stair climbing and ability to work on a hilly property.
· Must be able to manually handle/lift product up to 60 pounds between knee and chest
· Must have bilateral fine manipulation of both hands which may be repetitive for entire shift.
· Must be vertically mobile working in limited space for 8 hours at a time
· Protect the assets of this property and Migis Hotel Group
· Work in extreme temperatures and damp conditions, both indoors and out
· Schedule varies according to operational needs; will include overnights and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Frequent hand-washing
· Hazards include, but are not limited to cuts, injuries from power tools, strains from improper lifting, burns, slips, tripping, and exposure to chemicals
