Facilities Director - Central
JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities Director leads the overall stewardship, maintenance, and operation of Community Bible Church’s physical campuses and properties. This role ensures that every environment—from parking lots to worship spaces—reflects the excellence, hospitality, and care that align with the mission of Community Bible Church.
The Facilities Director provides leadership, strategy, and oversight for all facility systems, maintenance, custodial operations, safety, and capital projects, ensuring that each campus is safe, functional, and welcoming for guests, staff, and volunteers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Leadership & Oversight
• Lead and develop the Facilities Team, promoting a culture of teamwork,
service, and excellence.
• Oversee daily operations of all CBC properties, ensuring environments are
clean, safe, and ready for ministry.
• Manage custodial staff, maintenance technicians, event setup teams, and
contracted vendors.
• Coordinate facility-related needs with ministry and campus teams across
multiple CBC locations.
Maintenance
& Operations
• Oversee preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and
building systems.
• Manage security systems and collaborate with CBC’s Security and IT teams on
safety and infrastructure needs.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes and
safety regulations.
• Respond to facility-related emergencies, repairs, and after-hours issues as
needed.
• Maintain records and logs of maintenance and repair activities.
Budgeting
& Stewardship
• Develop and manage the Facilities Department budget.
• Oversee purchasing, contracts, and vendor relationships to ensure wise
financial stewardship.
• Evaluate and recommend cost-saving measures without compromising quality or
safety.
• Ensure accountability and proper documentation for all expenditures and
projects.
Project
Management
• Lead capital improvement projects, renovations, and new construction
initiatives in partnership with church leadership and external contractors.
• Coordinate project timelines, approvals, and communication with ministry
departments to minimize disruption to ministry operations.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with CBC’s
standards of excellence.
Event
Support
• Ensure all ministry and campus events are properly supported with setup,
tear-down, and facility logistics.
• Collaborate with the Events Team and ministry leaders to anticipate needs and
maintain excellent guest experiences.
• Oversee scheduling and use of church facilities to support ministry and
community activities.
Other
Duties
• Maintain ongoing communication with leadership and staff regarding facility
needs and priorities.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a regular full-time position (40hrs). Days and hours of work depend on operational needs of the church. Evening, weekend, and holiday duties are needed as job duties demand.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to do the following:
- Must have good or corrected vision as well as effective peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must have good manual dexterity and be able to use repetitive motion of the hands and arms
- Must be able to frequently stand and or walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to move about inside and outside the building to perform a variety of tasks
- Must be able to frequently and effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
- Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs. and push/pull carts/racks in excess of 100 lbs.
- Frequently reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl in awkward spaces
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in facilities management, construction, operations, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing projects of varying scope and complexity
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties are performed in a variety of settings to include, outside, office, and technical settings where the work and general environment may be fast-paced and hectic at times. Therefore, it is essential that the employee can effectively handle the normal anxieties associated with the job and manage multiple projects in a service-oriented environment. Environmental noise levels are minimal.
