Who You Are:

The Fabrication Manager must be experienced in MS Word, Excel and Outlook and must have strong leadership skills for day-to-day manufacturing operations to maximize growth, profitability, and efficiency. Must have the ability to independently supervise welders, fitters, and all other production employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, appraising performance, rewarding/disciplining employees, and resolving issues with fabrication quality. Additionally, the fabrication manager will plan, assign, and direct work to efficiently complete high-quality products.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Oversee all fabrication shop activities
  • Schedule and delegate production work
  • Perform, oversee, and document preventative and corrective maintenance on shop equipment including welders, forklifts, saws, lathe, etc.
  • Maintain the production area in an organized, clean and safe condition
  • Complete administrative reports and logs as required for purchasing scheduling, quality, personnel hours, personnel performance, etc.
  • Maintain and track inventory of shop equipment, tooling, raw materials, and supplies
  • Work with vendors to procure shop supplies including tooling, welding supplies, safety supplies, raw materials, etc.
  • Report all incidents, injuries, and non-conformance issues to management
  • Review and follow written procedures for performing work activities
  • Understand, review and comment on fabrication drawings/prints and weld maps for piping systems and structural weldments
  • Write, maintain, route, and close out shop travelers (work orders)
  • Ensure proper testing is performed on equipment prior to delivery
  • Ensure we produce a high-quality product deserving of our customers
  • Provide technical support to field services
  • Oversee hydrostatic, pneumatic, functional tests
  • Monitor welding and dimensional quality using fabrication experience
  • Facilitate, quote, and schedule shipping of materials and equipment to customers

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to pass a security background check and drug screening for unescorted access to nuclear and government facilities
  • Must possess good verbal and written communications skills
  • Must have moderate computer skills (Microsoft suite). Competent in AutoCAD is a plus but not required.
  • Must have an associate's degree (or equivalent from two-year college, technical school or military) and 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a fabrication/manufacturing environment (or equivalent combination of education and experience). A bachelor's degree is a plus but not required.
  • Must have experience and knowledge in welding, fabrication, and assembly of fluid and material handling systems
  • Must have a willingness and ability to work overtime to support business needs
  • Must hold a strong commitment to Quality and Safety
  • Experience in the Nuclear Power industry is a plus but not required
  • ASME B&PV Section IX Welder qualifications are a plus but not required

All candidates must be able to pass a drug test, pre-employment physical, and background investigation.
