Description

Experienced Fence Installers have more technical skills and experience than General Laborers/Installers.  They not only grasp the scope and sequence of individual projects, but they also perform multiple tasks, such as the installation of many fence types and the operation of small equipment.  Their mastery of fence installation procedures includes chain link with and without concrete foundations, wooden, PVC, aluminum ornamental, etc.  EFIs regularly use impact guns, bandsaws, reciprocating saws, drills, hammer drills, core drills and their hoses for setting anchor bolts, digging bars, post hole diggers, pounders and drivers, and hydraulic post drivers.  To achieve this position, employees must have four-thousand hours as general laborer/installer and the approval of management.

They work within the limitations of materials and specific conditions of each site.  EFIs can offer insight and make decisions that come only with experience and long-term mastery of skills.  Experienced installers must be flexible, adjusting to owner/customer requests and conflicts and changes with onsite conditions.

They exhibit effective, positive communication with their foremen and less experienced crew members, contributing to safety, efficiency, and quality.  They often serve as mentors.  EFIs often coordinate with their Foremen the logistics of material and onsite equipment.  As with the rest of our Company team, they bring with them each day positive, goal-oriented attitudes and a sense of teamwork.  Regardless of experience and knowledge of tasks, however, they must follow instructions and ask questions, when necessary.

EFIs utilize all appropriate and specific PPE when onsite, including hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety-toed boots, and high-visibility clothing.
