Dining Services Assoicate-Bucks
Full time, Monday through Friday position available, 8 am- 4 pm (37.5 hours)
Role: Works within the Community Life Team. Works in main dining room or within the assigned neighborhood to provide assistance with dining services. To provide assistance to the resident in maintaining their highest level of functional independence and psychosocial wellness. To provide assistance to the resident to ensure a positive, quality dining experience.
Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with Juniper Village’ philosophy and hallmarks as well as all written policies and procedures that govern the operation of the Community Life Departments.
Ensures resident safety at all times. Embraces Culture Change and resident-centered philosophies
Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with policies and procedures and as instructed by the Dining Services Director and/or the Director of Wellness, as well as other members of the Leadership Team.
Follow work assignments and/or work schedules in completing and performing assigned tasks.
Prepares all bakery, dessert, dessert carts and salad items according to the menu. Prepares healthy snacks, hydration carts and special meals.
Tracks resident attendance and intake. Delivers meals, food carts and trays.
Sanitizes and set the tables. Set up meals quickly, accurately and in a neat and attractive manner.
Places food on plates in accordance with menu and diet.
Collects soiled dishes and returns them to the dishwashing area.
Prepares dishes for dishwasher and properly stores items when they are washed.
Empties all garbage containers and keeps them clean and sanitary.
Assists with pot and pan washing. Unpacks and stores supplies
Report all changes in the resident’s condition, to the Director of Wellness.
Cooperate with other departmental staff to meet the needs of the residents.
Report all complaints, grievances and instances of abuse to the Dining Services Director
Report all occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials and hazardous chemical to the Dining Services Director.
Report needed repairs and safety concerns to the Dining Services Director. Assist residents as needed with the dining experience and social and leisure activities.
Serve meals and assist in the clearing of tables under the direction of the Dining Services Director.
Implements Connections activities as assigned and instructed by the Connections Director.
Follow established safety regulations, including fire protection, infection control, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous waste and quality assurance procedures.
Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
Handles food and equipment in accordance with sanitary practices Work in concert and harmony with other members of the team.
Communicate with family members, visitors and volunteers in a customer service-oriented manner. Complete all paperwork as required.
Participate in Community Life Team Meetings
Assist in doing laundry as needed
Educational/Vocational Requirements:
Knowledge of dining services.
Knowledge of the physiology and psychology of the older adult.
Successful completion of a CPR and First Aid course. Behavioral Skills:

General Requirements:
Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals within the community.
Attends and participates in mandated yearly training programs as well as all required meetings
Must be able to manage time efficiently so as to achieve goals. Adheres to all Human Resources policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
Respects confidentiality of information and Resident’s rights.
Perform job in a safe manner, using proper body mechanics, infection control, etc.
Responsible for proper care of all property, equipment, supplies and financial assets involved in the performance of the job.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Works throughout the community and its premises
Moves intermittently during working hours. Movement includes, but is not limited to standing, walking, sitting, pulling, lifting, reaching, carrying, pushing, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and twisting.
Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and carry such weight.
Is subject to frequent interruptions
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function so that the requirements of the position can be met.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
Able to communicate intentions and directions to residents, staff, families, and others as needed.
May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, staff, and visitors.
Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
Is subject to call back during emergency conditions May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, disease, conditions, etc. including tuberculosis, the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses
Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. throughout the workday as well as reactions from duct, disinfectants, and other air contam
