Excavator Operator
Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time skilled excavator operator. The operator will participate in various types of excavation work to include, but not limited to digging trenches, laying pipe, moving and grading dirt.
Note: This position is considered safety sensitive
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate excavator for sitework crew
- Trench around utilities and backfill using excavator
- Load and unload materials using excavator
- Perform daily heavy equipment walk-around inspections and preventative maintenance responsibilities.
- Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by federal, state and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state drivers license prior to employment
- Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work
- Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy/highway construction work
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
