Easter Seals Alberta is seeking a passionate, resourceful, and entrepreneurial Event Specialist to join our team! This is a newly created role with a unique opportunity to shape and expand the event landscape at Camp Horizon, one of Alberta’s premier event destinations. We need someone who thrives on innovation, independence, and thinking outside the box—a go-getter who can seize opportunities and bring creative event experiences to life!

 

As Event Specialist you will:

·          The ability to adapt individual behaviour and go above and beyond to support emergent needs internally with colleagues and externally with families.

Working from our Calgary office as well as being onsite at Camp Horizon for events & tours as needed, this role is responsible for:

 

Event Planning & Execution

·         Creating and executing engaging events that align with clients’ needs.

·         Oversee logistics, timelines, budgets, and on-site event management.

·         Confirming final event details (guest count, timing, menu selections, etc.)

·         Develop innovative event concepts that set Camp Horizon apart.

·         Ensure smooth execution of events, handling any challenges with a problem-solving mindset.

 

Contract & Logistics Management

·         Reviewing contracts to ensure terms align with event needs and budget.

·         Coordinating delivery, setup, and teardown schedules.

 

Business Development & Growth

·         Proactively identify and develop new event opportunities that showcase Camp Horizon as a premier venue – including Open Houses & a Christmas Market.

·         Build relationships with corporate partners, vendors, and community organizations to increase event bookings.

·         Stay ahead of market trends to keep our event offerings fresh and competitive.

·         Develop proposals and pitch ideas to attract new clients and partnerships.

 

Client & Guest Experience

·         Act as the primary point of contact for clients before, during, and after events.

·         Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring every event exceeds expectations.

·         Gather feedback to continuously improve event experiences.

·         Conduct post-event evaluations to measure success and drive improvements.

 

Operational & Administrative Support

·         Maintain detailed event records, including contracts, budgets, and invoices.

·         Assist in preparing reports and analyses to track event success and growth.

·         Coordinate internal communication between departments to ensure seamless execution.

Qualifications & Skills:

·         Experience in event planning, hospitality, or a similar role.

·         Background in business development or sales is a strong asset.

·         Strong organizational and multitasking skills with an eye for detail.

·         Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Proficiency in event software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

·         Comfortable with non-traditional hours, including regular evening/weekend work.

·         A passion for making a difference through events and community engagement.

·         On call as needed
