As we expand our team, we’re looking for an experienced Estimator who can bring both precision and creativity to our cost planning and project development process.
Position Overview
As an Estimator, you’ll play a key role in our pre-construction process, working closely with Sales, Design, and Procurement to generate accurate cost estimates and detailed material takeoffs. You’ll be responsible for developing BOMs for modular homes as well as site work, including foundations, utility hookups, and transportation logistics. Your work directly influences pricing, profitability, and project execution.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for modular home builds, site prep, foundations, and delivery.
Generate complete material takeoffs and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Support the sales team during the quoting process with timely, transparent cost data.
Collaborate with Procurement to ensure current pricing and lead times are reflected in estimates.
Use Excel and Navision to maintain and refine costing tools and templates.
Interpret CSA A277, Z240, and BC Building Code to ensure compliant and efficient project planning.
Participate in design reviews and offer value engineering insights.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in modular or prefabricated housing.
A diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience (e.g., journeyman background).
Proficiency with Excel; experience with Navision or similar ERP software is an asset.
Strong knowledge of CSA A277, Z240, and the BC Building Code.
Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple estimates in parallel.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
